create your own 18th century character (a curate, a field worker, a member of the nobility, an activist…) and comment…just make sure you let us know as the details regarding who you are, exactly.

Description:
Read the Introductions in our textbook to both Mary Wollstonecraft and John Keats carefully. You are going to need biographical background and context on both authors for this post. Feel free to do extra background research.
After you finish the assigned readings for these two writers, imagine that you are either Wollstonecraft or Keats and pen a letter to the other writer addressing an argument/arguments he or she makes in their body of work. Perhaps it concerns the role of women in 18th century society; the concept of beauty and the beautiful; notions about time and humans’ place in history; what it means to be alive; what it means to be/wish to be no longer living; the role of the writer in relation to the consequential issues of the day…etc. You choose the issue or theme.
As you assume the identity of your writer of choice:

Do not hesitate to use parts of their biography to add authenticity to your letter.
Include direct quotations from the work of the writer who is the recipient of your letter as you make the points of your argument in response to their writing. Don’t forget to use in-text citation.
Also, include direct quotations from your writer’s ‘own’ writing in the argument of the letter, so that the work of both author’s is present in the discussion on the page.
Please have fun with this! Go for it language-wise and period-wise.
Don’t forget to comment on at least two of your peers’ posts. If you want to assume the identity of either Wollstonecraft or Keats, go for it. Or, feel free to create your own 18th century character (a curate, a field worker, a member of the nobility, an activist…) and comment…just make sure you let us know as the details regarding who you are, exactly.
