In Unit VII of this course, you will be tasked to complete a research paper based on the following topic: How can a law enforcement organization repair a strained police /community relationship within a specific community that has experienced a police-involved shooting?
For this assignment, you will create an annotated bibliography, which requires you to research and select at least three peer-reviewed journal articles that support your stance on the topic.
At least one article must be from the CSU Online Library. Newspapers, news outlets, blogs, or anything from Wikipedia or any of its affiliates are not acceptable.
Your articles should address the following elements:
one or more theories regarding social and cultural awareness and how they can be applied to relationships between the police and the community,
one or more of the different approaches to police-community relations,
how police-community relations are impacted by police officers themselves.

In addition, substantive annotated bibliographies should address the direction, intent, and conclusions of the subject under review (the research paper topic) and explain how the individual articles are going to be applied to your research paper.
No directly quoted material should be used, but each source referenced should be written in APA Style. The Writing Center has developed an Annotated Bibliography tutorial that will help you through this assignment if needed. In addition, this Example Annotated Bibliography will provide you with a visual of what your submission should look like.
Your annotated bibliography must be a minimum of two pages (excluding title and reference pages). Adhere to APA Style when constructing this assignment, including a title page, an abstract and in-text citations and references for all sources that are used.Instructions
