You will be writing a term paper about a disease. The paper will be in a specific format for a case study. This is not an all about a disease paper. You will need to begin by choosing a topic from a provided list of topics.
Future activities regarding this term paper include providing references and a general outline, a peer review, a plagiarism check, the final paper, and a recorded presentation.
For this assignment, you need to review the list in the file provided.

This assignment is to write a CASE STUDY about a person who had your selected disease. Your paper will emphasize microbiology and diagnosis of the disease rather than nursing aspects. The paper is NOT NOT NOT an all about a disease paper.
The final paper will have specific sections on background, physical findings, testing, diagnosis, treatment, and outcome.
What is a case study? You might be writing about parrot fever. This is a respiratory disease caused by Chlamydia psittaci. You would describe the patient’s symptoms. The symptoms of this disease are like those of most respiratory diseases so they are primarily useful in determining that tests to differentiate respiratory infections are required. You would then describe the specific tests that were used to diagnose this particular disease in your patient (both those that ruled out other diseases and the ones that allowed diagnosis). The next section would describe how the symptoms and test results were used to decide what the diagnosis was (how you ruled out other bacterial pneumonia as well as viral or fungal causes of pneumonia). You need to describe the disease and the causative organism in also. Treatment of your patient for parrot fever must be described. An outcome for the patient is the final section.
The general idea is for you to write a 4–5 page paper describing how one particular patient was diagnosed and treated using the following mandatory labeled sections:
