The first part consists of identifications of historical people, places or events. You will answer four of six identifications in paragraph or bullet form. You need to provide a significant amount of detail on each of your answers to the identifications from both the lectures and the readings. Usually answers run about 100-150 words per identification answer. Each identification is worth up to 10 points each, with a total possibility of 40 points for the first section of the exam.
The second part of the exam is an essay covering broad themes for what we have covered so far in our class. You will answer one of two essay questions. Please be sure to provide detailed examples from both the lectures and the readings. In general, your essays should be around 350-450 words long. The maximum points for the essay will be 60.
