The purpose of the reflections is to encourage students to be aware of what they are experiencing, thinking, and feeling during the internship. Students are expected to demonstrate their ability to reflect on challenges, conflicts, successes, and areas of development and change during the internship. Reflections should include such things as:
Making connections between theories, class discussions, and internship experiences.
Raising questions and offering answers to the questions raised.
“I” statements (I wonder, I feel, I believe, etc.).
Strengths and areas for further development.
Exploration of biases or prejudices you may have discovered about yourself.
Discussion of knowledge gained and how this new information can be applied in future employment or graduate school.
Reflections must be one complete page, typed and double-spaced and use a 12-point font.
