Part I: Content Requirements:
– Select any excerpt from Gilgamesh for your literary adaptation project.
– Select a character who is not the main character. Write an adaptation from the point of view of a non-major character or character whose mind we have not entered (e.g. God Anu, God Enlil, Utnapishtim, the Bull of Heaven, a citizen of Uruk etc).

– While you tell the story of your character from their point of you also need to visit specific scenes from the text. Accordingly, Select 2 or 3 main scenes/ sections in text on which you will focus for your adaptation.
– Revisit and re-write the scene/s you had selected from this new narrative point of view. You are encouraged to use the first-person pronoun, “I” in telling this story or free narrative discourse form.
– Select any 6 different phrases of description and/ or dialogues from this text that you think is significant. (You will cite them in your adaptation).
– Incorporate the quotes you selected and mark them in bold.
– Without contradicting major plot points, be creative – add a background story to the characters or you can show what the future of these characters will be after the story ends. The narrator could be looking back from an older age, after the events of the text as well.
